The Temple, [by the way] where Rei lives, and the last time the three of us were in the same area...well. You remember. It's worth a full sandwich.

[Then goes to move off the counter.]

[Lucifer stops her and pushes her back on the counter.]

Now it's egg salad.

[She fights him just enough to be defiant before she sits still on the counter top. Crossing her arms over her chest, she just gives him this look until she holds out her hand.]

You're a crap nurse.

[But even with her acts of defiance, Jinx was enjoying this.]

[Lucifer smiles and winks at her, and gives her the sandwich. But he also leans in to nibble (for once not roughly) along the side of her neck.]

You sure you're talking about the sandwich, honey?

[She laces her fingers into his hair and holds his mouth against her neck. That sandwich? Totally getting set down on the counter. She really thinks she can get out of this.]

You can't keep up with me like this.

[He stops kissing her, but stays close, letting her hold him, letting his lips brush against her skin as he speaks. It's rare enough that he pays this much attention to anyone; rarer still that he seems to enjoy it.]

How urgent is this 'emergency'? Because if you don't eat now, I could spend a few hours working up your appetite.

[Nope. No, she can't. Really, she's banking on his superiority complex. If she's not leading the ordeal, it's only like running half a marathon. She swallows hard and runs her free hand from between his collarbones and slowly down his chest.]

What emergency?

[Lucifer smiles slowly; his own hand runs slowly up her body, feeling every bony contour, actually using a touch of angel mojo for once to make her really feel. If she's too weak to go at this for long, he'll at least have her hypersensitive and screaming before she passes out.]

Then name a room. And eat a grape.

[With the way he was making her feel? She probably would have stuffed a handful of grapes into her mouth. As it was, she popped one onto her tongue, then wrapped her legs around his waist.]

Living room coffee table.

[Because if she's going to pass out someway, it better be like that.]

[He flies them there--so one moment, the kitchen counter, the next he has her laid out on the coffee table. He also brought the grapes, which he presses into her hand.]

Another.

[While you do that he's just going to start undoing your clothes, Jinx.]

[It takes her a good, long time to actually chew and swallow the thing. When he tells her to eat another, she's barely done with the first. Removing her clothing is a good incentive, though. Eventually, she slips another one of the things into her mouth and arches her back against his hands.

Loving this attention? Oh, she's a glutton for it.]

[As long as she's eating, he lavishes attention on her, and it's not the rough abuse they usually throw back and forth at each other. It's been several months...time enough to show her the tongue trick, right?]

[This is different, but it feels so nice. The attention, the nearly affectionate touches. She purrs so loudly it should be embarrassing.]

[Really. Let her know you do, Lucifer. It keeps her from breaking up with you this week.]

Are you sure you're up to the coffee table? It seems like you're just asking for awkward bruises.

[Her purr doesn't stop completely, but she glares, grabs a grape out of the bowl, then bounces it off Lucifer's forehead. Only because he's right.]

I'd choose bruises over rug burn. Besides, are you really gonna argue with what you like? [Or they could just, you know, go at it in the bed for once. But that's ridiculous.]

I'm going to make you eat every one of those grapes before we do anything. [Because how dare you.]

What? [That actually comes as a surprise to her. She was trying to be cute, but no. Lucifer's just a dick.

She sits up and looks at him like he's brain damaged.] I've already eaten, like, a handful. [Because two grapes is totally a handful.] No.

[He gives her a wicked little smirk--was he playing? maybe? probably not but close enough--and wiggles his fingers]

Then eat five more.

[She groans and rolls her eyes like he just asked a 5-year-old to eat a plate of broccoli.]

Maybe I'd actually eat if you made it more romantic every once in a while.

[He almost laughs. He has her half-undressed on their coffee table, and that was the only way he could get her to eat two. Romantic? A dinner at the post-apocalyptic steak house? Or maybe chocolate covered strawberries while she freezes to death in the unheated bathtub?]

I'll make Gabriel pick you flowers. Eat.
