[Rei, like so many others, looks mildly disorientated -- after all, she isn't within the Temple of Heaven, but is in a new house entirely. She's sitting on the floor, legs crossed, frowning to herself as she places the events of the week.

She was with Ulquiorra. And she and Hitsugaya -- but then Szayel --

The priestess presses a few fingers to her forehead with a tired sigh, muttering to herself in annoyance.

Until something hits her and she immediately launches for the PCD, not noticing the red light until she has already switched the filter.]

But he doesn't remember that at the moment, so when that small piece of himself that completely hates who he is starts nagging at him, he just shoves it aside.]

[It would be sweet, what Hitsugaya is attempting to do, if he weren't still trapped within the mentality of the event. As such, Rei just looks tired.

Because Toushirou is right, the annoying little twerp. Curse him for knowing her so well.]

I forgot who you were and I lost one of the most important friendships I have in this place because of something that I did.

Why wouldn't I want a 'do-over' card, to go back to the way things were?

Because the way it is now, Toushirou can't even look at me and --

[He sighs, because really, he has his own messed up life to go deal with. Loosing his memory had taught him something really important. He had this whole life that he had lived, and he didn't remember any of it. Didn't remember the people in it, the things he had done. He needed to get those back.

He needed to focus on getting those things back. All of these problems and all of these issues only made him wish he didn't have to. Because if this was what his life was? He'd rather never remember.]

Life doesn't work that way.

[And he doesn't even want to talk to you because the sound of your voice makes him feel pyshically ill?]

You don't get to pick and choose what you forget and what you remember. You don't get to go back and do something over just because you didn't like the way it turned out. You move on and you get over it, and you either become stronger or you let it destroy you.

When you realize that, then come and talk to me.

[Because he loves you Rei, with all of his heart and every bone in his body, but he can't do this anymore. He can't and he won't. Because he wants to want those memories back.

And the last thing she hears will be the loud clicking noise of the PCD being hung up.]

[Something in Hitsugaya's head might have just snapped. He's never had anything against Cloud before, never seen any reason to interfere in Rei's affairs concerning him. Rei doesn't need him fighting her battles for her, and frankly, it's none of his business. He knows almost nothing about their relationship.

But he's stressed, and that used to be his girl you're talking to, even though she never was and he never wanted her to be, and only he's allowed to talk to her like that, so shut up you damn poor unsuspecting victim.]

[It's probably a good thing Cloud still has a grasp on his own sanity, slippery as it may be, and that he's dealt with nut cases far more insane than Histugaya, because really, he could snap someone's neck at the moment and walk away completly calm like nothing just happened.

He is, however, just about at that point where he's sick and tired of everyone and their grandmother butting in on his relationship when they don't even know anything about it in the first place.

So couple this with the fact that hey, he still can't remember a good three fourth's of his life, including the fact that he'd never rise to the bait normally, and guess what? You have Cloud, completely calm, answering you back.]
