I'm going out for a couple of hours.
I'll be back soon.

[These girls are pure and idealistic. Gems. This world is very hard on them.]
[Offline]
Yeah. Who knows.
[Offline]
[A soft squeeze on her shoulder.]
[Offline]
I know.
[Offline]
[Unohana finally walks around Rei to look at her, and puts a tender hand on the girl's cheek.]
You do not have to be strong all alone all the time, Hino-san.

She's never had a mother before. -- well, she did, when she was young, and Rei has vague memories of her, before her death, but she was forced to grow up without one. And, most of the time, Rei doesn't feel like a fifteen year old high-school student, just because she hasn't been a fifteen year old high school student for a very long time.
But it's times like these -- the nature of this place, the constant pressure upon her to keep Usagi happy, the threat of disappearance and memory loss peeking around the corner at every given opportunity -- that Rei, not for the first time, but certainly with regret, wishes she could be normal.
A lump is lodged in her throat as she fights down the tears -- because even with that horrendously guilty thought, Rei still refuses to cry.
Or, at least, she gives it an excellent shot, before one or two leak out.]
[Offline]
Many a person has cried on her shoulder, and it has helped most of them.]
It is okay, Hino-san.
[Offline]
Well, she can certainly control a hug. That's not difficult, right?
So Rei hugs Unohana, tightly, as if the woman might disappear herself.]
[Offline]
She is just ... there. Warm, and solid, and accepting.]

[Offline]
It is okay, Hino-san.
[It is true that Rei has always been contained, bottling everything up ... maybe this is why she and Hitsugaya-taichou get along so well, in fact. But the pressure needs to be released every once in a while.
Unohana's embrace is strong and reassuring, but at the same time loose enough that Rei can step out whenever she wants.]
Try to breathe slowly. Deep breaths.
[Offline]
And now that some of the senshi were here, Rei was struggling to connect the two halves of herself again. And it hurt, especially when Usagi expects so much more out of her, even if the other girl doesn't realize it.
Her breathing becomes a little bit slower and a little bit more even the more time passes.]

[Unohana's hands are still rubbing soothing small circles on Rei's back.]
And next time you feel like crying ... do it. Alone if you'd rather, but do not hold back, alright ? Let it out.
[Offline]
I hate crying.

Having a good cry every once in a while can really help. I guarantee it as a healer.
Re: [Offline]
Well, I can't argue with that.
[Offline]
[She pats Rei's shoulder gently.]
Just remember it next time you feel like crying.

[Offline]
Now, I am sure many of your friends will ... just happen to pass by, so I shall leave you to it.

Thank you, Unohana-san.
