[There's a series of slammed doors, when the PCD turns on -- anyone who has been inside of it will recognize the Temple of Heaven -- and anyone who pays attention will see that the reason for the slammed doors is quickly approaching the device.

Rei is opening doors, looking inside rooms, and slamming them shut.

Over. And over. And over. And over. And over.

It's a large temple, after all. There are a lot of rooms to look through.

But once Rei has reached the final door, the one closest to the PCD, she is breathless, her fingers are trembling, and she yanks it open with much more force than absolutely necessary. The door slams into the adjacent wall and the PCD manages to look inside it, quickly -- an empty, unused room -- before Rei slams the door shut so hard that the wall shakes.]

Damn it --

[It's choked through a sob as she turns away from the PCD, her shoulders trembling, as she struggles to get ahold of herself. The trembling soon turns into full out shaking and Rei turns, her back hitting the wall, so she can sink to the floor, her hands burying themselves in her hair as she cries.

Sometimes, it's just one last straw to finally break the camel's back.]

[It's a frustrated snap, because no, goddammit, you are not one of them, you aren't -- ]

That's rude, Mars. I'm as much a senshi as any of you.

[But this gives Rei something to focus on, and suddenly, her tone melts into a hardened one, perfectly in control.]

You're outnumbered, here.

...Tsukino-san is gone?

That's one less!

Shut up.

What's wrong? You don't have to fail to protect her now.

[And then, at that one little statement, something inside Rei's head finally snaps.]

Don't cross that line, Aluminum Seiren, because I've defeated youma, royals, generals.

I'll have no problem defeating you.

I hope that confidence is warranted. Your princess would hate to see you make a mistake...

You haven't felt my fire, Seiren.

Don't make the same mistake Beryl, Demando, and Nehellenia did before you.

[Icy. Cold. Soldier.]

So cold for someone so fiery... it's almost inappropriate, you know.

But if you want to try it, I'm enjoying the lake! [x,y]

[Cheerful! Also staying close to her element for safety. :| ]

[And there it is. Coordinates. But even quasi-hysterical, the soldier in Rei takes over, and she freezes, for a moment.

I'm enjoying the lake.

Stupid. It would be stupid.

But she threatened Usagi. She is making a mockery out of everything I stand for.

It would make things worse.

I'm done with being laughed at and feeling weak.]

[And, suddenly, Rei's hand closes over the PCD. Her fist is trembling, but she's standing.

And she's on her way.]

[YEP, guess who saw that on the PCD and is waiting at the door.]

Mars.

[She stops, in her tracks. Her transformation wand is clenched in her hand and she's breathing hard, but --

Neptune. Neptune. Is in her way.]

Move aside.

I watched you die to Lead Crow already. I won't let the same thing happen with Seirin.

[ -- but that isn't what --

Different worlds. Rei can't deal with that, right now.]

I'm not going to die.

Then you're prepared to kill her?

[Her voice is terse, quick.]

Water versus fire, Mars. How are you going to pull it off?

I'll figure it out.

[And Rei brushes past her, to keep walking.]

[Seiren isn't entirely sure why she made the... 'offer' wasn't quite the way to put it. But it was done, and she found she didn't mind one way or another whether the senshi actually turned up.

Everything that Usagi had said to her still bothered her a little. Not enough to shake her, but enough to confuse her. It wasn't how enemies were treated, and that much made her uneasy, being in a place where she didn't have any allies. It was unexpected.

But Mars was acting how an enemy was supposed to act, and while it really was sort of a bother to maybe have to fight alone, getting a senshi out of the way while she was unbalanced, alone- things like that didn't happen often enough to pass up.

And she'd been too idle in this place; Crow-san would probably have been upset with her....

Seiren is waiting on a nice outcropping of rock next to the lake, curled up and outwardly relaxed.]

[It had taken time, but Mars shows up, transformed. She is breathing heavily, as if she ran the entire way here, and her eyes are hardened.

Sailor Aluminum Seiren.

Sailor Mars prides herself on her power -- she works hard to maintain it that way. As one of the most powerful inner senshi -- and the most loyal of them all -- Mars is confident in her ability to defeat the senshi.

Fire danced along her fingertips as she stood tall.]

What do you want from me.

[And Neptune is just going to be at a safe distance, watching. She is not even attempting to hide.]

So you made it.

[Speaks without even looking back at Mars yet, before finally sighing and getting to her feet, brushing herself off and smiling at her when she finally turns.]

I've never introduced myself properly yet, have I? Sailor Aluminum Seiren. It's nice to meet you.

[Completely at ease, as though the signs of attack weren't there- or weren't something she needed to take seriously.]

I already know who you are and you already know who I am. Don't play games with me.

[Her fingers curl into fists, but the fire remains. She can sense Neptune -- Mars idly wonders whether or not she should tell her to get the hell out of her fight, but she doesn't.]
