[There's a series of slammed doors, when the PCD turns on -- anyone who has been inside of it will recognize the Temple of Heaven -- and anyone who pays attention will see that the reason for the slammed doors is quickly approaching the device.

Rei is opening doors, looking inside rooms, and slamming them shut.

Over. And over. And over. And over. And over.

It's a large temple, after all. There are a lot of rooms to look through.

But once Rei has reached the final door, the one closest to the PCD, she is breathless, her fingers are trembling, and she yanks it open with much more force than absolutely necessary. The door slams into the adjacent wall and the PCD manages to look inside it, quickly -- an empty, unused room -- before Rei slams the door shut so hard that the wall shakes.]

Damn it --

[It's choked through a sob as she turns away from the PCD, her shoulders trembling, as she struggles to get ahold of herself. The trembling soon turns into full out shaking and Rei turns, her back hitting the wall, so she can sink to the floor, her hands burying themselves in her hair as she cries.

Sometimes, it's just one last straw to finally break the camel's back.]

... our kitchen is empty.

Eh, it's okay! We got bakin' stuff here.

I meant that in a 'yes, you can' kind of way.

Right! Uh. Shall I come over now?

If you want.

... See ya in a bit then?

I'm not leaving.

[There's a nod, and he turns off the PCD. He'll be there pretty quickly. He knows the way almost off by heart now... Right to the kitchen.]

[And Rei won't be in the kitchen, immediately. but she'll meet him there.]

[By the time she does, he's already made a mess. Usagi used to handle the flour and other ingredients when they made cookies - usually just after someone close to them left. Right now, there's a bowl, with flour and an egg in it - and half the shell.]

... what are you doing?

[She's in the doorframe.]

[That makes him jump, spinning to look at her - the bowl almost spins off the counter, and he glances back from it, to Rei several times before he finds words.]

Uh, well - uhm. Makin' cookies. Yanno? Uh. 'Sagi-chan showed me... where everythin' is... I thought-- I mean...

... it's fine.

[There's a tired sigh.]

[He looks lost for a moment, turning back to the bowl, arms loose at his sides.]

Y'sound annoyed.

I always sound annoyed.

... Yeah, but - well... maybe, and...

D'ya know how to get shell out of here?

[Poke poke.]

-- use your fingers.

[A huff, as Rei crosses over, to pick it out of the bowl.]

[He knows when to step aside, and it's such a small gesture - although probably a good idea. He has flour on his shirt and up his sleeves.]

Whoops. There's a big bit there look.

You're supposed to crack the eggs, not slam them into the bowl, you know.

I didn't just slam 'em. Sagi-chan showed me. I did it like that, it just kinda... went all funny in my hand.

You have to crack them gently and in a careful way or else the shell will go everywhere.

I diiiiid.

[He sighs, staring at her and pouting.]

Lemme mix it all up.
