[For a moment, all you can see is the rainbow fuzzy face of a lamb -- until Rei pushes it out of the way with a scowl. She looks harried, tired, and is holding half of what appears to be a set of bed sheets. The other half seems to have been eaten.]

Is this week over yet? Because I really want it to be over. And if one more sheep tries to eat my sheets drying outside, we're having mutton tonight.

[She pauses, though, and looks -- slightly more serious.]

And -- I know this is Shura's thing, but anyone who went to the Inner City -- do you mind telling me what everyone found? Is everyone okay? Any new information? I know all of us who went in first would appreciate getting all of the facts to see if any headway was made -- or if the scientists were found. So... let Toushirou or I know so we can cross-check our facts.

And I'll definitely give anything I found over, too -- fair's fair.

[And then the public feed cuts off.]

Let's finish the washing and go watch.

I don't know if he knows yet or not.

[She scowls to herself, slightly, as she picks up her basket.]

He got into a fight with Lucifer.

What were they fighting over? [Usagi starts taking down a few sheets that look... well, the kindest way to put it would be mostly intact.]

I don't know. I haven't talked to him yet.

[She puts down the basket next to Usagi to help her wtih those.]

Will they be alright? [Will it stop before people get hurt, especially innocents, humans?]

Lucifer is going to kill Castiel if this keeps going and there's nothing he can do about it if Lucifer decides to actually go through with it.

[Rei yanks a sheet down with more vigor than strictly necessary. She's furious with his situation.]

And their family can't rise against Lucifer to save him and the only one who could is Michael and from what everyone else tells me, he's not going to.

[Complicated.]

We might not be able to get in between them either.

No, not without making it worse -- and if they fight full out, this entire city is in danger.

We can definitely protect the city. [Her powers might be dampened, but so are theirs.]

But not Castiel.

[Rei -- really hates Lucifer.]

[Usagi looks at Rei over the top of a sheet, and smiles.]

He's our friend, isn't he? We'll definitely protect him.

[Rei isn't sure whether or not she can protect Castiel from Lucifer -- but damn it if she won't try.]

Right.

[It's like Usagi said: There's no way they won't try. They'll do everything they can do.]

Is that what you've been worried about? [Fold, fold.]

... I guess so, yeah.

[The sheet is set aside to free Usagi's arms up. She comes to Rei and puts a hand on her shoulder.]

We'll all help you, alright?

I know.

[Usagi squeezes Rei's shoulder lightly. Look, she's even helping with housework. Without being yelled at! She means it, Rei.]

[She smiles a little bit before she looks up at the sheets.]

We'd better get the rest of this inside.

Right.

[Usagi folds the sheets in companionable silence for awhile, piling them up as they're finished.]

I'll make dinner if you want.

We can make it together, that's fine.

[It's what she's decided she can do, for Rei: be a little more responsible and less whiny about the daily tasks and chores.]

Alright. It'll be kind of fun.

As much fun as it can be, anyway.

That's plenty, if we're doing it together. Come on!
