[The PCD clicks shows a girl dressed rather inappropriately for the landscape she has found herself in. She appears battered, bruised, as if she has just been involved in a large fight... which Sailor Mars has definitely fought.]

Where -- where am I? Hello? This doesn't look like where I was... at all. Is this a trick from the Wise Man?

[Mars' voice trails off as the girl pushes herself up to her red high-heeled feet, dusting off her white gloves. She winces aloud at movement. She also pays no attention to the PCD, which is still lying on the ground, unnoticed.]

That beating was worse than I thought.

[Mars cups her hands around her mouth to yell.]

Sailor Moon! Sailor Venus! Jupiter! Mercury! Chibiusa! This isn't good, this isn't good at all... Usagi, where are you?! Is this some kind of trick?

And I didn't mean you having no arm, I meant the metal -- [Mars honestly doesn't know what it is] prosthetic piece.

Yeah, that's what it is. It's bolted through muscle and into bone. -=Still snotty.=-

And I'm perfectly fine with it. You got any questions, you can speak to my mechanic over it when she's done fixing it.

[Have a twitch. Mars can already foresee that they won't be the best of friends.]

Right. Let's try again, then. I'm Sailor Mars. What's your name?

-=Twitch is met by an eyeroll=-

Edward Elric.

[Saying 'nice to meet you' seems like a lost cause at this point, but Mars sighs and tries anyway.]

Mars. Do you go by Ed or Edward?

Edward. -=Because only friends call him Ed. He's contemplating on making her call him Fullmetal.=-

Do you go by Sailor or Mars?

[That gets half a grin out of her, despite the situation.]

Edward it is. And 'Sailor Mars' is the full title. You can just call me Mars. Sailor Mars is a little bit of a mouthful, don't you think?

[She'd reveal her true identity to Adstringendum when she felt the time was right.]

-=listens to the babble.=-

Sure. Too much to say.

[Another twitch, but Mars, for the sake of her position, maintains her temper.]

You look like you're my age. [Not an insult, just an observation.] How long have you been here, Edward?

Been here for almost a year. How old are you?

-=Though he's already dreading the answer.=-

Fifteen.

[She arches her eyebrows.]

I turn sixteen next April.

-=You may or may not have noticed his hair antenna twitch.=-

Wonderful. Happy birthday.

Thanks, in advance! How old are you, sir?

[So what if the 'sir' is sarcastic? She feels Edward is taking this way too seriously... and she's the one that was just dumped in an alternate dimension. Besides, teasing is what Rei does best.]

-=he notes the sarcasm, lady. He hears enough of it from Mustang.=-

Sir is for the man who wants to say is my father. I'm 18.

[Oh, Rei isn't as terrible as Roy is with the relentless teasing sarcasm. She wishes she were, though.]

Eighteen?

[She decides against pointing out that Edward doesn't look eighteen to her.]

A few years older, then.

-=He was waiting, too! The hackles might be relaxing a little bit, now.=-

Yeah. A couple, at least.

Three. To be exact.

So what do you do in your world?

[One arm and all.]

I'm an alchemist in the military.

-=We'll start with simple. Never mind the missing arm for now. He'll wait for the 'can you really turn things into gold??!?!??! crap.=-

[It doesn't come. Mars blinks and looks interested. She'll avoid the obvious question and ask the most basic.]

An alchemist? They're myths in my world...or, at least, if they did exist, they haven't in a long time. What can you do?

I transmute one thing into another thing. Whether that's creating a new object or fixing a broken item, -=shrug=- Doesn't matter.

-=play aloof! Eventually, she'll turn into some moron and talk about gold.=-

That's amazing!

[And she does sound, truly, amazed. Those powers just don't exist in her world... I mean, sure, she can banish the odd evil spirit and gets visions ocassionally of dark forces, but fixing and creating new things? That's incredible.]

You're your own walking fixer-upper.

[She raises her eyebrows, though.]

But if you can fix broken items, why is a mechanic fixing your arm?

I can only fix what I know works. Take, for example, one of these handy devices. If mine breaks in half, I can transmute so that it looks like it's repaired, but I don't know how the innards function. Ergo, it won't work.

My automail is much more complicated than a 'peg leg.' The wires connect to my nerves and while I can make very basic repairs in an emergency, I don't know how all the nerves and wires and innards work in order to repair it on my own.

-=A small huff=- Besides, I don't want to put my mechanic out of business!

Hn. Got it. [Whether or not she understands it is another matter entirely.] That's still really useful, though. I have a friend -- Mercury. She's really into science and math. She'd love to talk to you, I bet.

[She sobers slightly at the mention of her friend, but her lips twitch into a smile at the last line.]

It'd be a shame to do that in this place, hn?

Oh yeah. Definitely.
