Six full days.

[Six days since their powers left. Six days since Rei has felt aura. Six days since Rei has lost the powerful inner senshi within her. Six days since she let that stupid candle burn her.

Six days since Rei has wanted to go to the Inner City and take her abilities back.

Only one more day until Rei knows whether or not this is a normal event or whether or not it is, truly, a punishment.

You can call her on it if you want. Whether or not she'll be extraordinarily talkative is entirely up to you. But she isn't quite done yet.]

This event is still going. You're still mortal. You should keep in mind that I've been a normal human for a lot longer than you have.

I'm thinking I should open a half-way house called 'Victims of Lucifer' and register it as a non-profit charity so I can get paid for the amount of stress I go through.

That's the funny thing about dead people, they can't really stop you.

[Her fingers are massaging her forehead now.]

So I guess that means you two need to stay alive.

Unless he kills both of us at the same time, there are two of us.

[So one can pitch a fit and try to stop her. But he gives a half-shrug.]

However, staying alive is ideal. And angering Lucifer enough to harm one of us is counterproductive.

[She doesn't bother pointing out that if she wanted, she could stop Gabriel in his tracks, and Castiel mortal would be fairly easy to stop as Mars. Because while Rei's anger burned bright, it, like fire, cooled once the fuel was gone. They'd be able to stop her, if they tried.]

I'm trusting you.

[It's after another long silence, and it's quiet.]

Don't screw it up.

[He's quiet again, briefly, but he's glad she's not yelling or crying or anything this time.]

We won't.

Good.

[She's quiet before Rei looks down at him, arching her eyebrows.]

We really do need to get you new clothes. And I guess Gabriel is stuck being dehydrated and overheated too.

[Again, he glances at his clothes, before he looks at her once more.]

I'm not certain what's wrong with these ones, but alright.

Gabriel seemed to be faring well enough when I spoke to him.

Nothing's wrong with them, they're just too big. And it's hot out. You'd feel better with lighter clothes, that's all.

[She does look satisfied, though, when Castiel says that Gabriel seemed to be still alive. The moron had survival instincts after all.]

Isn't clothing in short supply here? I can make do like this.

[He was uncomfortable, sure, but he could take worse. This didn't really, honestly bother him.]

Clothing that looks nice is in short supply. But if you're sure, then I won't bug you.

[And now he has to think about it. Hm.]

I will ask Dean if he has anything I can borrow.

You'd look dumb in a leather jacket.

[Rei is the most helpful person ever.]

Dean has jackets that aren't leather.

One would likely be very hot in this weather, also.

I'm just making fun of him, I wasn't serious.

I need more summer clothes, too. Sunglasses. I'd kill for a pair of sunglasses.

[He gives her an odd look.]

Sunglasses warrant such violence?

[She laughs.]

It's a turn-of-phrase. I just really want some.

[He still looks at her oddly, but then nods.]

Alright. Then we will attempt to find some.

[Sob, he doesn't get it.]

It just means that I want them really badly. You've never heard someone say that before?

[Rei waves a hand dismissively.]

It doesn't matter that much -- it's not on the top of my priority list. Ice cream? That warrants violence.

No. Usually when someone says they plan to kill something for whatever reason, they're serious.

[Gosh Rei you don't know this about his world yet?]

Ice cream? I've never had that before.

Well, I'm not going to kill someone for sunglasses or ice cream, so you don't have to worry about that.

[She pauses.]

[What sort of deprived childhood did you have?]

I wasn't worried. [Not like he thought she'd kill anyone he cared about, after all.]

No, we never had occasion.

[No, just Lucifer. Or Kurotsuchi. Or Sebastian.]

You should give it a shot. It's delicious. And you can get it in a bunch of different flavors. I bet you're one of the people who eats only the strawberry kind.

[Have at the latter two, but killing Lucifer would be a bad idea, Rei. 8|]

I've never had strawberries either.

[Though he probably would end up liking fruit flavors best.]

There's a case of them in the kitchen, hidden on the top shelf of the pantry next to a small blue box. Have at them.

[She hides the valuable stuff so Usagi doesn't eat it all in one go.]

They're really gpod. Sweet, even! And they taste even better in ice cream.

[He makes a mental note. He's still not into the eating thing, but if Rei said he'd like them, he was willing to try. If he found things he liked more he might be more interested in eating them.]

Perhaps ice cream could be made.
