Only one more day until Rei knows whether or not this is a normal event or whether or not it is, truly, a punishment.

[Well, that much is true. Her ribs still feel funny, even if she can't feel the runes anymore.]

He doesn't listen to half of what I say. If he did, he wouldn't be speaking with you in the first place.

[Though... Castiel had asked Gabriel for an opinion, because Rei had seemed so upset. He had worked to find a solution, after he had calmed down, after Rei had told him it was a bad decision. He had listened when Rei yelled at him not to give up after his grace was removed. And he had worked, so hard, at Rei's insistence, to adapt to being mortal as quickly as possible so he could keep fighting.

What if Lucifer was actually right.

Rei isn't sure whether or not she feels comforted or crushed with a sudden new responsibility.
