[Rei is sitting in her fire reading room. She hasn't left it very often since the memory event ended, somewhat obsessed with trying to see glimpses of home through the flames. That and the warmth and fire is a comfort to her -- so she may as well get whatever work she needs to get done finished inside.

For tonight, she has a pile of clothes in front of her that she is mending -- and not only mending, but adding lining to for winter. She has a pile of finished folded clothes to her right -- a coat or two for Minako and Usagi, a longer jacket for Michiru, and she's currently working on dismantling Castiel's coat in order to add lining to it, to ensure he doesn't freeze to death when the snow actually starts. Youma, her cat, is on a pile of untouched clothing, watching Rei with his large blue eyes, tail flicking in boredom.

The needle flashes quickly, in and out, and shows Rei frowning in concentration before the feed ends.]

So you're going to sit inside for four months and not see anyone or do anything.

[Somewhat dryly. And then she pauses, and a moment of trolling occurs to her, and she flips on the video feed.]

Come on, I can give you this one --

[And she holds up Castiel's trenchcoat, which she's in the middle of mending and lining.]

I can make it fit and dye it pink. No one wears it anyway.

[THE MOST APPALLED FACE FOR SO MANY REASONS.]

[Oh, what's that? A blinking message? It must be something super important --

... nope, guess not.]

[THAT IS THE SOUND OF YOUR ANGEL STOMPING INTO THE ROOM. Which isn't very loud since he doesn't really stomp but you know.]

Rei. What are you doing to my coat?

[He's sure they've talked about this.]

Fixing it.

[Absently. Oh, there goes a sleeve.]

You know that you can't really sneak up on me in a temper tantrum, I can feel you coming.

I wasn't attempting to sneak up on you.

[And he winces about that sleeve.]

Rei, my coat was fine. It's just too warm to wear it.

It won't be warm enough when it snows three feet. You're lucky that you wound up mortal when you did -- it was hot, not freezing. So I'm making your coat warmer and so that it fits.

[She puts the needle between her teeth to smooth it out carefully on her lap.]

It'll look good as new when I'm done.

It fits fine as it is.

[Ignoring the rest, even if he does know he hates cold and isn't looking forward to winter as a mortal.]

It swallows you whole when you put it on, Cas, it doesn't fit at all.

There's nothing wrong with the size of it.

I so recognize that coat and he probably stole it off a hobo and it probably smells like sweat, piss, and boring.

[She throws her nose up in the air and crosses her arms.]

I'll just spend four months inside with Lucifer. [WHAT NOW, REI.]

I think he stole it off a tax accountant, actually.

[Musing as she looks down at it. IGNORING YOUR THREAT COMPLETELY.]

Four whole months alone with Lucifer. All the things we'll plot. All the wicked things we'll do. Evil, horrible things.

A tax accountant who couldn't pick out the right size clothes, apparently, seeing as it could fit an elephant or Raphael's ego before it could fit Cas.

All alone. By the fireplace. So romantic, just like you wish you and Castiel were.

[Pause.]

... fire kind of freaks him out, actually. Don't you pay attention to angels?

Has anyone ever told you that you're the opposite of fun?

I'm just saying.

I also don't think he knows what the word romance means.
