Hey, Adstringendum. I've got a question.

[Rei is sitting in a chair, in Castiel's impromptu study, with a worn book in her hands. An anthology of ghost stories. And, because of simple curiosity:]

Do you believe in ghosts?

[Scientists? What scientists? Fran is going to handle that part.]

[Well, it seemed a bit silly to answer that question exactly, but Botan is curious... And she can't resist curiosity.]

I take it the question is for those that don't actually interact with spirits and ghosts directly... What exactly is the definition for 'ghost' in this case, if there is one?

One of my best friends in this world is a ghost.

[Rei flashes Botan a grin.]

You're exempt -- but I take it to mean as someone who has passed on in their living life and is reborn again in the next, as a spirit, without a body, but with an attachment to the world.

It is hard to prove or show to people here, though... Given Adstringendum gives or forces everyone into a corporeal state.

It actually feels a little strange, knowing that I've been in this body for as long as I have. I usually only had it as long as I had to be interacting with the living world, so it was more like it was by choice.

The shinigami are like that, too. Toushirou doesn't have a corporeal body in his world unless he's in the 'real world', or whatever you want to call it.

[Nods]

Rukia mentioned some of that as well, during... Well, you know. That time when Madara hypnotized everyone.

[She's trying to wave that time off. Juuust a bit, to get past it.]

I admit, I got a little distracted from the contract with our superiors, when it comes to using the physical bodies. Ferrygirls were never a part of the living realm, so meeting Rukia was surprising. I know we talked about the shinigami before, but she was the first I had met. Then I met Tsuzuki-san and realized it's probably more typical that way.

Hitsugaya Toushirou is my best friend -- he's one of the shinigami here. He's usually yelling at people or telling people they're stupid over the network whenever they disagree with him.

[She means it in the most loving way possible.]

But I'm pretty close friends with most of the shinigami here.

[They adopted Rei at an early age. She gets along with dead people.]

[Nods]

I remember you talking about him around the time I had first arrived. Still, I don't think I've spoken with him. Though I haven't been on the network much these days.

[Botan knows people that do similar things to what Hitsu does, so she gets it. Also, Rei gets along with a bunch of people that aren't Lucifer or absolute dicks. Even then...]

[Lucifer is her arch-enemy, okay, there is no bigger dick in the world to her than Lucifer. 8|]

You should! I think he'd like you.

[Botan can understand that somewhat. She had ended up switching bodies with him. Not fun at all.]

I suppose I'll have to try and catch him at some point, then.

Well, like I said -- you can't miss him. Loud, obnoxious, short. Likes snow. Complains a lot. Is rude to pretty much anyone and everyone he talks to.

He'll put up with you longer if you can take what he dishes out, though.

Sounds familiar. Kuwabara was here for a short time, but it sounds more like Yusuke from the people in my world.
