8 [Accidental Video Post]

[Mars is standing in view of the PCD, one palm held in front of her, the other hand clenching two talismans. In front of the sailor senshi is a large gargoyle, animated for movement. It’s shoving itself closer to her, teeth gnashing together, claws flashing forward to slash her into ribbons , but Mars only exhales deeply. She doesn’t look bothered at all.]

Rin, Pyou, Tou, Sha, Kai, Jin, Retsu, Zai, Zen... Akuryou Taisan!

[She flings a talisman towards the gargoyle and it freezes in place, its movement abruptly stopped. It appears that whatever spell Merlin put on them has now left and the gargoyle is regular stone once more, but Mars doesn’t appear to be done with it just yet. She presses the final talisman to her lips, murmuring a charm against the thin white paper, before tossing it towards the gargoyle. She immediately brings her arms up, intertwining her fingers and pointing at the talisman, as if aiming a gun.]

Fire Soul Bird!

[A burst of flames engulfs the talisman, creating a massive phoenix that rockets towards the gargoyle. It slams into the stomach of the gargoyle, shattering it. Rock pieces fly in different directions and Mars throws up an arm over her eyes to shield herself from the debris.

The PCD turns off immediately after.]

ooc: Forward dated to after first wave of rescues/during rescuing James and Remus with Kotarou.

[It won't last very long, relish the change while you still can. She filters the message while she texts a quick message to Kotarou to triple-check that James and Remus have been rescued properly.]

No. I'll have to either tomorrow or Thursday, for supplies.

Go for a walk or something tonight.

['Nother snort. He wasn't about to follow some teenage girl's orders ~~while she was watching~~.]

[Oh, you.]

I'd join you, but I think I'm going to go to bed after I make sure Nit and Wit made it home safely.

[He would have thought the nicknames were clever if he'd known the people she was referring to. Instead, he merely nodded.]

You'll need it, I'm sure.

I'll take one when I feel like taking one.

And I'll go to bed when I feel like I need it.

[Huff. Which will be in, like, fifteen minutes, but Hitsu doesn't need to tell her that.]

[He didn't have to tell her anything. He could already see it.]

Be careful, Toushirou, wouldn't want a gargoyle to take you be surprise.

Hey, I didn't even talk to him! I was just checking the place out, I walked on the grounds, and that thing jumped at me! It's not like I was looking for trouble, I was just making sure everything was okay.

Were they?

Yeah... Kotarou got Remus and James out. I don't know how many other people were still inside. They're safe as long as nobody ticks Merlin off.

I was going to go find Merlin, but... I'm affected. Projecting. I didn't want to let on anything that would help him beat me easier.

[Like the fact that she was worried sick and whatnot.]

Ah. [A nod.] He wouldn't have been the only one to feel those emotions. It could have sparked a panic.

It wouldn't have sparked a panic. I wasn't scared.

[Hmph.]

I'd just rather not fight someone knowing that they can read my every emotion and have them know my weak points, that's all.

You were worried. There's little difference.

[She gives him an annoyed look before glancing off-camera, a small frown on her lips. Fear is something she never allows herself to feel, not during battle. Or, at least, she never allows herself to admit she's afraid.]

You say that like being worried is a bad thing.

[He didn't say anything, only clicking his tongue in annoyance.]

It's not. And besides, being afraid for yourself and being afraid for other people aren't the same thing.

[She's quiet for a moment as she slips into the house, silently making her way to her room. When she gets there, she speaks again.]

The second is more dangerous. I'd sacrifice myself for my friends if I needed to in a heartbeat, but sacrifice myself just to win a fight or solve something? I'd probably think twice.

[She blinks to herself at the admission and purses her lips, annoyed with herself. She's tired, now, and just talking to talk to avoid focusing on the events of the week.]

Which is why this event sucks and we're all lucky that the 'bad guy' is just Merlin being a moron.

[He knew that difference very well. He couldn't remember a time when he'd been afraid solely for himself or his own life. That sort of thing ... just didn't matter. But then, he would be more than willing to sacrifice his life if it meant winning against Aizen.

In the end, he decided not to comment on her first assertion.]

It does make things simpler. He's not harmless, but he can be handled.
