[Well. Not in as many words. And in fairness, he told Lucifer much the same. But you don't quite listen to sense when you're pissed off.]

He might not have been sure how to deal with it, either.

Rei-chan, why do the things Lucifer says bother you so much?

[She's not arguing that they shouldn't; feelings rule her and she won't tell someone else theirs are wrong. But she's curious why this is what gets beneath Rei's skin.]

[She's silent, for a long moment at the question -- not because it requires a lot of thought, but because she's surprised by it. It should be obvious, shouldn't it?]

Exactly. [She smiles.] So that's all you need. You just need to hold on to that. Because you're none of those things.

Do you mean you feel it with your spiritual sense? That could mean he's really doing something dangerous.

He's the Devil, Usagi. I always feel him.

I thought you meant even more than that.

No more than anything else he's up to or has done.

[She doesn't bother paying full attention to her intuition when it comes to Lucifer anymore -- mostly because it usually means that he's going to come bother her. And what else was new? That's what Lucifer did, after all.]

[He likely won't change because of it, but she'll be telling Lucifer to knock it off in short order. As in, the next time he posts to the network.]

He can't come in here, right? So if you just want to get away from him, you can come here.

I could, if I never wanted to leave the house again.

[It's said irritably, as was her custom, but -- it was the truth, too. Staying inside worked, but it was unrealistic. And Rei could hold her own against Lucifer, if she so chose, but not without putting people in danger at the same time.]

[Usagi would never ask Rei to confront him. She knows what happened to Rei the last time their battles brought them to the origin of evil in their galaxy. Rei had died in her very arms, and Usagi had had to face that battle alone, so terribly alone.]

You shouldn't have to do that either.
