flameandpassion | 4 [Accidental Video]

[The PCD clicks on to darkness, at first, with the rustling of sheets and feathers. There is the quiet sound of sobbing, but it's controlled, as if the individual doesn't want anyone to hear. There's a 'woosh' and the PCD is knocked upright to show Rei sitting in her bed, shaking, her face buried in her hands. She looks exhausted, as if she's just woken up from a terrible nightmare. Tears are leaking through her fingers and hitting... what appears to be large white wings that are wrapped around herself. They, too, are trembling.]

They're not dead... they're not dead... it's just a nightmare, there's nothing bad happening, they're not even here...I wouldn't hurt them, I wouldn't...

[The voice sounds choked, forced, and desperate. She moves to push herself off of the bed, but thinks better of it. Instead, Rei wraps her newly grown wings around her, still ignorant of the PCD recording. It turns off.]

ooc: Rei has just had a nightmare about killing her friends, aka, her only family. Have at it. ♥ Also, for those that care, her wings are capable of flight because Sailor Moon physics are awesome.

[No, no they are not. Rei takes the cloth and smiles a little, rubbing at her face. The warm cloth does the trick -- she calms down noticeably and sighs, curling her fingers into it as she rests it in her lap.]

[She's quiet for a long moment, trying to wrap her mind around what she just saw. When she speaks, it's quietly.]

I don't really have a lot of... family, back home. My mom died when I was really little and my dad -- [She snorts softly.] He calls on my birthday, sometimes, but he's too busy with his own life to be in mine. I live with my grandfather. And my friends -- [Her breath catches and her fingers curl around the cloth.] -- are the family I really wanted.

My dream... in my dream, I was with them. Ami, Minako, Makoto, and... Usagi. I don't know where we were, but even though I was with them, I was alone... and they were all attacking me, like I had done something wrong to them. I don't know what I did, but they were furious, and ... [Her voice drops to a whisper and tears spill onto her cheeks again.] I killed them.

[Jean lets her deal with the cloth and sets the basin aside so that it wont be in the way. This time he just nods his head as a 'you're welcome' and stays quiet with her. Sometimes talking just wasn't the thing to do.

When she mentions her mother and father, Jean's heart drops. It's so sad that she's not had a family, even worse that her mother passed on. At least she had her Grandfather though. Listening on, never once being anything but quietly attentive, Jean frowns at the end of her 'dream' and just how broken up she is about it.]

Well.. Y'obviously love your friends. Y'been puttin' yourself up under a lotta stress worryin' about why y'can't get any'a those spirit signals n' I think that's where y'got this dream from, Rei. You're too good a girl, too good a

Your friends part'a this military you're in?

[Rei is quiet for a long moment. It's times like these that she'd kill for Usagi and Minako's annoying blathering or Ami's pacifying calmness, Makoto's consistently optimistic attitude towards life, even when she's been through more than Rei has... but she appreciates Jean trying and she forces a smile at the word 'military'.]

It's not really a military. [She snorts softly.] We didn't have a chance to volunteer. We were chosen to defend the moon princess and we were given powers to protect her with them. Usagi -- my best friend -- is that moon princess. But... yeah. We all fight together to protect each other and my world from whatever's trying to hurt it. There are five of us and we were each given a patron to call upon whenever we need it. Usagi is Sailor Moon. Minako, she's Sailor Venus, Ami is Sailor Mercury, and Makoto is Sailor Jupiter.

[She brushes the hair out of her eyes.]

And I'm Sailor Mars. It's hard, sometimes, but I wouldn't change anything about my life after Luna and Usagi told me who I was.

[Jean realizes the huge fail he is at comforting people. Even worse, women. Even worse than that, young women. The smile he recognizes as something that she's probably doing for his benefit.

He raises his eyebrow, ok powers he knew. She said she could see stuff in fire. That could be used for protecting, certainly. As for this 'Usagi' and her being friends, it reminded him of him and Roy- 'cept Roy wasn't a princess. In fact a lot of it reminded him of home in some ways, but not exactly since obviously there was two huge differences.

One. They're not in the same world. Two. It seemed by the code names these girls were ggiven- they're Navy.]

Well when your navy drafted ya, that made y'become more than just work buddies.. sometimes when y'work in th'military there's people y'just stick with like family- Navy's still military, from what I know. Either way.. you'n your fellow Seamen seem real close. Not only that but y'really are proud'a what y'do and it shows.

[Rei blinks at Jean's explanation, growing more and more confused as the lieutenant continues. Seaman? Navy? ... oh, sailors. As he continues, Rei slowly dissolves into giggles. Soon, she's laughing hysterically, tears in her eyes from the effort of keeping in the effort of laughing.]

I'm -- I'm not a seaman --

[...Jean's happy that she's ...slowly turned into giggly mass of teenager, no teen should be as unhappy as she had been. Her or Ai. In fact he couldn't help but chuckle softly even if he's damned sure it's at his expense in the most friendly way possible.

In other words he's used to his derp becoming someone's giggle fest.]

....O-oh! Uh, Sorry, y'said Sailor so I figured y'meant y'worked for th'Navy.. This some kinda small special ops group then? Somethin' maybe just for your uh, Princess Moon?

N-no! [She fights down another wave of laughter as she grins.] The Moon Princess used to live on the moon. It was a kingdom, hundreds of years ago, and I used to be in her court. Dark forces attacked it and the Queen sent her daughter, the princess, and her royal court to Earth, to try and protect them.

We were woken up, one by one, because we had to fight back the evil that had destroyed the Moon Kingdom in the first place. It's our destiny.

[She pauses before pulling her transformation wand out of her pocket to show him.]

I use this to call upon Mars to transform me, so I can use my powers. I use fire, mostly. I can show you, if you want.

[Quiet as always, Jean's definitely trying to digest the first bit of that. ....It makes even his world sound absolutely like a walk down the street on a dainty Sunday morning picking posies and being obliviously normal. Good Deity of Choice! He's doomed to not knowing more than Hawkeye for non-supernatural women.]

Y-yeah actually I think uh, I think that'd be real best if .. y'don't mind.

[Jean fixes his eyes on that piece of equipment that she pulled out. Ballpoint? Looks expensive. They're expensive back home, and new.]

[Rei gets to her feet, more than happy for the distraction. She ensures that there's more than enough room for her to transform and grips the wand tightly, focusing on what she's about to do.]

Mars Star Power!

[And fire engulfs her, but doesn't seem to hurt her, and doesn't burn or scorch anything in the room. It dies away rather quickly to reveal Sailor Mars, who exhales deeply and grins. She always feels stronger as Mars, less vulnerable, less... well, in these times, useless. She gives the good lieutenant a quick salute.]
