flameandpassion | 4 [Accidental Video]

[The PCD clicks on to darkness, at first, with the rustling of sheets and feathers. There is the quiet sound of sobbing, but it's controlled, as if the individual doesn't want anyone to hear. There's a 'woosh' and the PCD is knocked upright to show Rei sitting in her bed, shaking, her face buried in her hands. She looks exhausted, as if she's just woken up from a terrible nightmare. Tears are leaking through her fingers and hitting... what appears to be large white wings that are wrapped around herself. They, too, are trembling.]

They're not dead... they're not dead... it's just a nightmare, there's nothing bad happening, they're not even here...I wouldn't hurt them, I wouldn't...

[The voice sounds choked, forced, and desperate. She moves to push herself off of the bed, but thinks better of it. Instead, Rei wraps her newly grown wings around her, still ignorant of the PCD recording. It turns off.]

ooc: Rei has just had a nightmare about killing her friends, aka, her only family. Have at it. ♥ Also, for those that care, her wings are capable of flight because Sailor Moon physics are awesome.

[She forces a smile before shaking her head, trying to get the image of the nightmare out of her head.]

It's so real. The nightmare. It's like you're living it and everything. I could feel what was going on.

I don't doubt it. But you're back in the waking world now, and you're fine.

[She turns the PCD away so she can rub at her eyes and make herself look halfway presentable. After a few minutes, the PCD is back in her hands. She looks tired, but the majority of the fear is gone.]

Yeah. Thanks.

[He's always gotta make sure the girls are okay.]

Mm.

Did you get wings, too?

[A quick change of subject is always necessary for those awkward moments, particularly when she's the one embarrassed. She tugs at hers, blowing the hair out of her face, looking irritated. Mostly that the Animus have horrible timing. Or does Rhode? Rei doesn't know.]

[His face said it all. And the fact that said wings were no more visible than one or two tiny stray feathers peeking over his shoulders said even more.]

[Rei purses her lip into a line to try not to snicker. Really! She's trying!]

They're... perfect?

[Chibi wings for a chibigami, but she won't dare say so.]

They won't get in the way. [Huff.]

Yeah, that's a good point.

[She spreads her wings a little slowly, experimentally... and promptly hits them against the wall.]

I don't even know if I can walk with these things. They feel heavy.

You'll get used to it soon enough.

[With a huff of her own.]

I utilize a larger set on a regular basis. I imagine dealing with them 24/7 would force a person to adapt faster.

... what, seriously?

[Bingo! Total distraction from Rhode being a psycho. She's having difficulty imagining Hitsugaya with a large pair of wings flitting around like some kind of... pale angry bird.]

[He does not flit. He glides.]

Rei eyes him for a moment. To believe or not to believe? That is the question.]

It's not something I can summon in an enclosed area.

What are you doing, then?

[Because Rei can use a distraction and, quite frankly, this room is way too enclosed for her liking. Besides, this sounds interesting.]

I owe you tea and I want to see these wings of yours.

[He looked back at something out of view of the PCD before turning to Rei again.]

He should be asleep again in a few hours. Then it'd be fine.

Hm? -- oh, your friend.

[Her expression softens.]

Is he okay?

...He will be.

We got off easy in comparison, I guess.

[Well, he would be fine so long as the pain got better instead of worse as time went by, and so long as nothing worse happened. Hitsugaya wasn't exactly optimistic, but seriously now, the shinobi had been through enough. The pain had better ease, or else he would have to go hunting for the animus instead of Aizen.]

We did. That's not a bad thing.

[Rei sincerely wishes he wouldn't go do that, as she imagines that wouldn't go over very well.]

Mm. No, it's not.

[She shakes her head a little -- her hair was going to be extraordinarily annoying with these massive things on her back this week -- and smiles.]

It's not. But I'll make tea for him, too.

I'm sure he'd appreciate it.

He'd better, good tea takes awhile to perfect.

[But it's only teasing, of course.]
